Internet Marketing with Burchard & Pagan
The other day I was driving in my mobile university listening to the mp3 of an interview that Brendon Burchard was doing with Eben Pagan. If you don’t know these guys, you should if you do any type of online marketing. Both guys are very successful when it comes to selling online in many different niches; and close to home, Pagan was actually a real estate agent early in his professional career. Now put in perspective that these guys were doing an interview during a launch of Pagan’s latest online product, so they were in sales mode…BUT, that’s where we find the point of this week’s tip.
Give Away Your Best Stuff
So here these guys were, both in the middle of making big dollars as they pushed Eben’s product into Brendon’s massive audience, but they way they did it was brilliant. Now I know I’ve heard this many times before, but their mutual endeavor was to give away their BEST ideas…yes, their BEST, no holds barred; and that’s just what they did in a very transparent way. So I’m sure that just made many of you completely reject the concept in our in the real estate sales business!
How Could You
How in the world could you do a CMA (comparative market analysis) and give that away for free? Why would you show a buyer, that you don’t quite control, the best listings in town since their not yours…after all, what if they go direct? What if you produced a video that actually told buyers and sellers the “inside scoop”, revealing all the ins and out of why some buyers get the best deals and why some sellers get it sold for top dollar no matter what type of market it is? All your competitors would just steal it and copy away, then you’ll need an attorney to attack, right?
The Death of The Mentality of Scarcity
If you haven’t noticed, the world has already eliminated the real estate industry’s locked up vault of gold…think IDX. Yes, we now share our listings with the world. Sure you can fight it, but the public will run you right over if you try. So here’s the point of this real estate coaching and training tip: Be Generous as Pagan instructed. Once you’re there, multiple it by 10x then 10x that level. I love the fact that we have been forced into a world of transparency and service, because that will always reward the hardworking and honest real estate agents and brokers the most!
